WELCOME TO DIVISION OF CLINICAL NUTRITION

Clinical nutrition deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and management of nutritional and metabolic changes in patients and its connection to acute and chronic diseases. A clinical nutritionist determines how nutrients in food affects your well-being.

The nutritionist will provide advice and guidance in efforts to encourage dietary changes to prevent chronic diseases. This may include basic diet and lifestyle recommendations, diabetes education, determining nutrient depletion with certain medications, adjusting patient’s diet in respect to their medical conditions, assist in establishing patient’s goals and preferences, tracking weight loss with calorie count, and reviewing patient’s food logs. The clinical nutritionist will work with the patient to develop a simple dietary & lifestyle plan by making it as realistic and practical for patients to adopt to. Using a holistic and integrative approach, the nutritionist will create a Personalized Nutrition Care Plan, provide nutrition counseling, and teach practical skills based on the patient’s specific needs and preferences.
